GOLDEN NUGGETS # 103 REFLECTIONS: JEHOVAH SABAOTH, LORD OF HOSTS

I was captured by the phrases “faith detonator” and “chain breaker” in Jodie Hughes’ book, THE KING’S DECREE. It got me thinking about how powerful faith is and what it can do. And that led me to thinking about GOD, JEHOVAH, and how powerful HE is! And that led me to thinking about one of His names: JEHOVAH Sabaoth, the LORD of hosts.

Jehovah Sabaoth (sah-bah-owth) can be translated, “The Lord of Armies. This name denotes His universal sovereignty over every army, both spiritual and earthly. The Lord of Hosts is the king of all heaven and earth” (see Psalm 24:9-10; Psalm 84:3; Isaiah 6:5). – https://blogs.blueletterbible.org/

Hebrews 2:10 calls Jesus Christ “the captain of [Israel’s] salvation” – also a military term. Jesus Christ is the leader of the “hosts of heaven,” the angelic armies. Joshua encountered

the “captain of the host of the LORD, Jesus, in Joshua 5:13-6:5.

We are blessed to know Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer, but sometimes we forget that He is also the captain of our salvation. Jesus hates sin; that’s why He took it upon Himself so we could be forever freed and delivered from it. When He comes back to the earth for “the battle of that great day of God Almighty” often referred to as the battle of Armageddon, we will see how much he treasures righteousness and hates sin. This will not be Jesus “meek and mild,” but Jesus, Captain and LORD of the armies, come to destroy all of those who have gathered to war against Him. (See Revelation 19:11-21)

Psalm 2 is a fierce warning to those who oppose Him.

“How dare the nations plan a rebellion. Their foolish plans are futile! Look at how the power brokers of the world rise up to hold their summit as the rulers scheme and confer together against Yahweh and his Anointed King, saying: ‘Let’s come together and break away from the Creator. Once and for all let’s cast off these controlling chains of God and his Christ!

“God-Enthroned merely laughs at them; the Sovereign One mocks their madness! Then with the fierceness of his fiery anger he settles the issue and terrifies them to death with these words: ‘I myself have poured out my King on Zion, my holy mountain’” (Psalm 2:1-6 TPT).

“Listen to me, all you rebel-kings and all you upstart judges of the earth. Learn your lesson while there’s still time. Serve and worship the awe-inspiring God. Recognize his greatness and bow before him, trembling with reverence in his presence. Fall face down before him and kiss the Son before his anger is roused against you. Remember that his wrath can be quickly kindled! But many blessings are waiting for all who turn aside to hide themselves in him” (Psalms 2:10-12 TPT)!

GOD and His people are under attack all over the world, but JEHOVAH Sabaoth, the LORD of hosts (angelic armies) is on the move, and He will prevail! That truth is a faith detonator!

While the rest of the army of Israel quaked before the giant of the Philistines, David, the young shepherd boy remembered His God. And remembering, his faith detonated, he looked Goliath in the eye and said, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you…Then all this assembly will know the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the Battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel: 17:45-47 NKJV).

Today the devil’s giants are blustering that God’s people don’t stand a chance. They laugh, they scorn, they snicker. But it is GOD who will have the last laugh. Be encouraged, Christian! Detonate your faith and break off the chains of the enemy! Come against the giants in your lives and in this nation in the name of the LORD of hosts, JEHOVAH Sabaoth!

The battle is the LORD’S!

Glory to GOD!

Love, Hugs, and Blessings,

Syandra
